Your kids are going to love this!
Happy Sunday, Music Teachers! 🎶
I’ll tell you what: nothing gets my students more immersed in a lesson than when it involves playing a game.
So, as a way to hook my students in, ensure on-task behavior, active learning, and high engagement, I created these pumpkin-themed 🎃 note matching games for treble and bass clefs. The games are designed for students of all levels (introduction, reinforcement, and review) and can be used in centers, as individual work, or an easy option to leave with a sub.
Alrighty…now that your ears have perked up, here’s what you get:
The game consists of 12 pumpkins that need to be cut out and cut in half.
One side of the pumpkin has the note name written out (ex: “Middle C”) and the other half has a whole note on the staff (treble or bass, depending on the version).
To play, students simply match the note name to the corresponding note on the staff.
The treble clef version includes: Middle C, D, E, F, G, A, B, C, D, E, F, G
The bass clef version includes: Middle C, B, A, G, F, E, D, C, B, A, G, F
As always, versatility is the name of the game—so this activity comes in both color and black & white, allowing you to choose the option that best suits your needs.
Want to laminate and keep for centers? Print in color on card stock.
Looking for something that your students can take home and practice on their own? Print black & white copies for your whole class.
Bonus!! There's a pumpkin coloring page at the end! 🎨 You can use for early finishers or as a goodie to send home with your kiddos.
These bad boys are super affordable ($3.25 a pop or under $6 for the bundle) and will have your students focused and fully immersed in learning the note names on the staff. Tap into their autumn excitement and add some pumpkin spice to your lessons!
